Spotlight on Lisa Vroman: Broadway Star and Classical Soprano

According to The San Francisco Chronicle, Lisa Vroman is a “musical and theatrical marvel.” Included among her many acclaimed roles are starring on Broadway as Christine in the Phantom of the Opera and being the first to play both Fantine and Cosette in Les Misérables. American Festival Pops Orchestra, Featuring Lisa Vroman

On Saturday, April 4 at 8 p.m., Ms. Vroman is coming to Mason’s Center for the Arts for the American Festival Pops Orchestra program that will pay tribute to The Great White Way. She will reunite with Maestro Anthony Maiello, lending one of American musical theater’s most beautiful voices to an exciting evening of iconic Broadway hits. An Intimate Evening with Lisa Vroman

On Wednesday, April 1, the versatile Ms. Vroman will perform an intimate cabaret, Broadway and Beyond, the proceeds of which will go to George Mason’s School of Theater. Joe Walsh, the Rags and Big River music director, will accompany Ms. Vroman. The event is chaired by Paulette Miller with the help of members of the Friends of Theater at Mason. This elegant evening will take place at the home of Ms. Sheralyn Watkins. Details to follow.

Music and Theater Master Classes by Lisa Vroman

Ms. Vroman is an active mentor and a sought-after clinician, with many colleges and universities across the country and the world. During her visit to Mason she will pursue this passion by conducting two masterclasses for some  fortunate Mason students – one for music students on Tuesday, March 31 at 3 p.m. and another for theater students on Thursday, April 2 at 4:30 p.m. They will surely be memorable experiences for the students.
